**Temp Warehouse Specialist**

**Department:** Marin **Location:** San Rafael, CA

**for the San Francisco Marin Food Bank.**

**The SF Marin Food Bank is comprised of a dedicated team of approximately 150 staff working collaboratively to provide close to 50 million pounds of food to over 210,000 people in the Bay Area a region where 1 in 4 people are at risk of hunger. We are currently looking for a Temp Warehouse Specialist in our Marin facility to help provide additional support in food deliveries to our partners and pantries. **PURPOSE OF POSITION:** Responsible for warehouse duties as assigned at the direction of supervisor .

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES**

* Shipping and receiving

* Receive, organize and stage orders for daily distribution

+ Item spot check/quality control

* Other inventory cycle counting as required

+ Freezer/cooler counts

* Assist the shop floor when need

+ Provide excellent customer service

+ Restock shelves

+ Restock bins as per allocation plan

* Assist in Recycle program

+ Bale recycle cardboard using compactor, empty when full

+ Separate tags from recyclable stretch plastic store in cardboard tote. Ship to SF when full

+ Empty warehouse receptacles in the proper trash & recycle dumpers

* Process, manage and return to inventory, driver return item

* Assist with pest control initiatives and AIB general tasks

* Assist in receiving during heavy inbound days

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

Education: High School diploma or higher

Experience: 3 years forklift experience preferred

Required knowledge: Basic computer skills

Experience required: 5 years basic warehousing experience required

Skills/Abilities: Able to work in a fast-paced environment and take direction from multiple managers

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: forklift operator certificate

**Finger Dexterity:** Requires typing on standard computer

**Talking:** Ability to speak on phone, face to face, and in front of groups

**Hearing:** Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information

**Repetitive Motions:** Frequent and regular movements using the wrists, hands, and fingers

**Average Visual Abilities:** Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to view computer screens and documents

**Physical Strength:** Ability to lift two 25-lb bags simultaneously

**COMMUNICATION AND COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS**

**Reasoning Ability:** Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of complex intellectual andpractical problems

**Mathematics Ability:** Ability to perform advanced math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percentages, and todraw and interpret graphs

**Language Ability:** Fluency in English. Good writing skills. Cantonese/Spanish a plus
