Coder – CPC (FT)

Auburn Memorial Medical Services (AMMS) is searching for talented Medical Coders to join our billing team. Coders are responsible for the complete, accurate, and timely assignment of CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis for those providers assigned by the billing manager. The complete, accurate and timely assignment of codes is necessary in order to provide:

· A clinical database for patient care, research, QA studies, credentialing activities, case-mix analysis, and hospital planning;

· Fulfillment of data collection requirements of regulatory agencies such as JCAHO and the NYS DOH;

· Optimal reimbursement for AMMS, PC; and

· Consistent cash flow for AMMS, PC.

This role requires an Associate in a related field and one or more years of medical office billing experience in a medical practice – and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience, which includes medical office billing procedures, medical terminology, and coding, among other knowledge. *Candidates must be accredited as a Certified Coding Specialist *and have at least 1 year of experience in professional office outpatient coding. Training in ICD-10 and proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
