The Musselshell County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff. This job opening will close on April 30th 2024, all applications must be received on or before this date. The Musselshell County Sheriff's Office is expanding its staff and is seeking an individual that wants to work for Team Musselshell. The position offers a standard compensation benefits package, including Medical, the Sheriff's Retirement System, paid vacation and sick leave, and a desirable work schedule, top of the line equipment, training opportunities, and a minimum starting annual pay of $50,478 dollars. Qualifications: *Any individual with a felony conviction, a domestic violence conviction, or outstanding warrants is ineligible for consideration for employment by the Musselshell County Sheriff's Office *Must possess a high school diploma *Must be a citizen of the United States *Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment. Recruitment & selection processes will involve successful completion of an oral interview, criminal background check, post offer - pre-employment physical and psychological examination and may require a written test, if applicable *Employees must have successfully completed and passed the required tests and fitness evaluation *Valid driver's license issued by the State of Montana; *Successful completion of the Montana State Basic Law Enforcement Academy within one (1) year of employment; or Montana issued Peace Officer Post Certification. Preference given to Montana Post Certified Peace Officers and military veterans. Responsibilities: *A Deputy Sheriff serves in a highly responsible and visible capacity in the protection of life and property; preserves the public peace, prevents crimes, arrests violators of the law, enforces all laws and ordinances; does related work as required. *Provides information and assistance to motorists, pedestrians and the general public; *Performs traffic enforcement and investigates traffic accidents; conducts radar checks and issues warnings and citations for non-moving and moving violations, and all other tasks that may arise when working for a small rural Law Enforcement Agency.
