THE POSITION
The State Correctional Institution at Greene is currently looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to fill the position of Corrections Medical Records Director. In this role, you will oversee the management of medical records and documents within the facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Your role involves developing and implementing facility policies and procedures to ensure the precise completion and upkeep of medical records, in addition to meeting the standards set by accrediting and certifying agencies. Accuracy is paramount given the frequent requirement for various classifications or cross-references within a single case. You will supervise a team responsible for managing intricate medical case histories, with oversight from an administrative supervisor. Your performance will be assessed based on compliance with departmental and facility regulations, utilizing reports, meetings, and inspections.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
The Department of Corrections offers an excellent compensation package, including competitive income, generous paid time off, health insurance, and retirement package.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Registration as a Medical Records Administrator with the American Health Information Management Association;
or
Two years of experience as a Medical Records Technician; and registration as a Medical Records Technician with the American Health Information Management Association;
or
Four years of experience in the preparation, classification and abstracting of medical reports in a medical records department; and registration as a Medical Records Technician with the American Health Information Management Association.

PA residency requirement
