Eagle Brook Church is a multi-site church looking for a skilled and strategic Next Gen Care Specialist to join our Kids Ministries central team located in Centerville, MN. This person will champion Eagle Brook Church’s vision and strategies to care for kids/students with disabilities and additional needs and their families. A person skilled in developing ministry strategies, equipping staff members, and creating tools and resources for volunteers will thrive in this role. If you love to create ways for kids and students of all abilities to be included in ministry in a collaborative environment, you may be the perfect candidate.

POSITION SUMMARY

Champions the vision of Eagle Brook Church by equipping others to care for families that have kids and students with disabilities and additional needs. Develops a model of inclusion so that kids, and their families, can attend church services and know Jesus. Inspires and equips campus staff and volunteer teams to help all kids and students know that they are highly valued and loved by God. Reports to the Kids Ministries Director.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops strategies that welcome and engage kids/students with disabilities and additional needs
  • Facilitates and supports the success of staff to:
    • Carry-out vision to ensure all kids/students regardless of disability or additional needs can participate Develop a network of caring volunteers to serve families
    • Engage with families, kids, and students
    • Grow in understanding to support those with disabilities and additional needs
  • Establishes best practices for identification of needs, best supports, and family communication
  • Provides ongoing coaching and training to campus staff within the scope of care and best practices
  • Creates tools and resources for campus staff to onboard and equip Care volunteers
  • Creates training and development resources to equip staff to partner with parents as they care for their kids and students
  • Committed to learn and grow in scope of knowledge and understanding regarding ministering to those with disabilities and additional needs
  • Identifies and creates tools that engage kids/students within Care (activities, toys, resources, etc.)
  • Collaborates with the Central Kids and Student ministry teams to ensure care strategies are fully integrated with program strategies
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or related degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working with kids/students with disabilities
  • 1+ years of ministry and ministry development experience preferred
  • Follower of Jesus and aligns with Eagle Brook’s nine core beliefs
  • Knowledge in child development and education
  • Proven written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate vision and strategy
  • Adaptable in changing environments and maintains a positive and helpful attitude
  • Able to collaborate cross-functionally and maintain strong relationships
  • Great listening skills with ability to receive and ask for constructive feedback
  • Experience and high-level competency with MS Office

WORK SCHEDULE

Generally, Weekdays at the Central Office located in Centerville, MN. Occasional evenings and weekends at various campuses.

Classification: Non-Exempt; Hourly // Status: Full-Time // Team: Kids Ministries
