About the Position:
As PFI’s digital content coordinator, you’ll handle all aspects of PFI’s social media channels and email marketing, make minor updates to the PFI website and monitor PFI’s email discussion groups. This includes using creative copywriting to make engaging content, developing content calendars, scheduling posts, engaging with followers on social media, laying out email newsletters and more.
Your work will directly help PFI expand our network and connect more farmers and landowners to PFI programming. You’ll join a hardworking, curious and ambitious marketing and communications team whose goal is to bring the stories of PFI and its members to life and share them with a wide audience.
Duties:
Email Marketing (40%)
Plan, develop, create and publish PFI’s weekly, monthly and quarterly email newsletters
Create and publish email blasts
Report on email newsletter metrics
Implement email newsletter processes
Carry out strategy to increase engagement
Social media (35%)
Plan, develop and publish content on PFI’s social media channels (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
Maintain social media calendar and regular posting schedule
Monitor and respond to inquiries on social media. Engage with followers
Report on social media metrics
Carry out strategy to increase engagement
Website (20% of duties)
Make minor website updates
Carry out strategy to increase website traffic and improve user experience
Email Discussion Groups (5% of duties)
Monitor and respond to member posts
Required Qualifications and Characteristics:
Strong writing and editing skills
Solid understanding of social media best practices
Strong interest in social media, including social media trends
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Willing to try new things and learn new skills
Flexible, adaptable and a self-starter
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and within a team
Strong attention to detail and highly organized
Desired Qualifications and Characteristics:
Basic understanding of agricultural production in Iowa
Experience with email marketing platforms
Experience writing and publishing social media content in a professional setting
Experience with website content management systems, WordPress preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications or related field
Compensation:
This is a full-time, exempt position with the option for hybrid or remote work. There is a minimum requirement of 2 days per month at the Ames, Iowa office, although preference will be given to candidates who can be there once a week. The salary range for this position is $46,500 to $50,000 with annual opportunity for advancement and salary increase.
