Job Title: Electrophysiology TechLocation: San Francisco, CA Gross Rate: $3,983/week (for travelers)Duration: 13 weeksShift: AM, 4x10 hoursRequired: ARRT / CA CRT / RCIS / RCES, BLS, ACLS and 1+ years of recent experience as an EP TechDescription: Utilizes and interprets electrophysiology data to assess and re-assess patient condition, based on age-specific principals before, during and after EP procedures. Provides Electroencephalography (ECG) monitoring and interpretation, measurements, and calculations, intracardiac recordings, interpretation and programmed stimulation during the evaluation and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias in the EP Lab. Analyzes and edits the electrophysiology data for accuracy and normalcy after an EP procedure in preparation for the physician report. Provides technical support to Surgery and the nursing units as needed for the performance of device implantation. Provides and maintains quality technical and diagnostic data the EP Lab. Provides ECG monitoring and interpretation, measurements, and calculations, intracardiac recordings, interpretation and programmed stimulation during the evaluation and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias in the EP Lab. Identifies and correlates the effects and responses of cardiac medications on the cardiac electrical system and corresponding patient physiology and hemodynamics. Promptly recognizes the deteriorating patient condition and responds appropriately to the urgency and acuity of the patient. Safely and accurately performs CPR/cardioversion/defibrillation on pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Recognizes stress and responds to multiple from simultaneous demands from patients, families, physician, co-workers, and ancillary departments in a positive, professional manner. Monitors inventory needs in advance of upcoming cases and assists with supply ordering and stocking to ensure EP Lab is adequately stocked. Ensures all equipment in the EP Lab receives routine preventive maintenance and initiates service calls as needed. Calibrates equipment as necessary prior to procedures to ensure accuracy and function. Recognizes equipment malfunction and demonstrates resourcefulness in troubleshooting activities to correct minor problems Skills: Participates in research and evaluation of all new equipment/products brought into the EP service. Knowledge in electrophysiology, including cardiac anatomy and physiology, and diagnostic and interventional procedures. Demonstrated proficiency in recognition and interpretation of ECGs, and cardiac pathophysiology is required. Knowledge of principles of radiation safety. The incumbent will demonstrate the ability to operate a wide variety of physiologic monitors, recorders, ablation systems, programmers, pacemakers, and defibrillators. Ability to trouble shoot instrumentation and demonstrate resourcefulness in problem-solving.
