MRI Technologist, Medical Imaging, PRN

Responsibilities:
Working under moderate supervision, in compliance with regulatory, HIPAA, organizational, and departmental policy and procedure; delivers MRI services to patients ranging in age from neonate through geriatric, using MRI procedures and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner while maintaining the standards of ethics for radiologic technologists. Is responsible for staff, student, and patient safety in the magnet room.Job duties include but are not limited to:Ability to assess problems related to duties and make independent judgments within the framework of established policies and proceduresAbility to set priorities and manage workload, accepting and completing assignments in a timely manner and to remember assignments and tasksAbility to handle stress and emergency situations in a calm and professional mannerMaintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for the patient and familyEnsures work areas are safe, clean, stocked, and orderlyUtilizes proper technique when lifting, transferring, and ambulating patients for safety of self, patient, and other staffUtilizes excellent customer service standards and Studer principles in communicating with patient, family and coworkers through use of verbal amenities, pleasant facial and body expressions as well as pleasant voice toneProvides patient and family education as appropriateDocumentation of patient history and care as appropriateParticipation in departmental QAPI process and patient experience initiatives as requested
Qualifications:Required:Graduate of a formal educational program acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)Certified or eligible for certification by the ARRTLicensed or eligible for Indiana State licenseAbility to see and hearAbility to concentrate with interruptionAbility to focus for extended periods of timeAbility to speak clearly and intelligibly with excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skillsUnderstands safety, theories, and concepts related to MRIUnderstanding of the related behaviors and needs appropriate to age (neonate through geriatric)Maintains AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (Basic Life Support)Desired:Venipuncture skills
