Production Planner Summary:

As a

Production Planner,

you will work with internal cross-functional teams to create and maintain production schedules per assembly, engineering, and manufacturing capacity to best meet the customer delivery requirements for new machines and replacement parts.

Production Planner Essential Functions:

Attend/Facilitate the production planning meetings for new machine orders to establish critical milestone durations for engineering, purchasing, machining, assembly, testing, and shipping.

Analyze customer orders and help establish production schedules for timely delivery, based on customer demand, available capacity, and lead times.

Analyze capacity in the downstream operations and create rules for adjusting milestone dates while minimizing the impact of customer delivery dates.

Populate/maintain the production schedule for machines and populate/maintain department specific production schedule with the use of MRP dashboards.

Create and release machine and part jobs into the ERP system upon release from engineering (machines) and sales (parts)

Schedule and reschedule internal production jobs in order to maximize efficiencies in machining and assembly, also to meet customer due dates to ensure customer satisfaction.

Work with Machine Shop Manager to analyze capacity for make versus purchase and select the best option based on schedule requirements

Work with Assembly Supervisors to drive schedule adherence and completion of production jobs

Assist in the printing of part routing travelers and part drawings to be delivered to the machine shop

Participate in weekly Production meeting to analyze current production status vs. schedule to determine whether job is on track

Communicate schedule changes with the responsible salesperson for machines and part orders

Monitor production and adjust the schedule for timely delivery

Monitor the amount of materials released to production

Assist in inventory accuracy and adjustment

Production Planner

Essential Functions:

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including collecting data, establishing facts, drawing conclusions, and recommending effective correction action.

Ability to work well cross-functionally and communicate with internal and external parties.

Ability to multi-task, organize, plan, and prioritize duties to meet multiple overlapping and competing deadlines and strict timelines.

Resource management and ability to adapt and adjust within a build to order environment

Production Planner

Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelors degree in Business, Operation Management, or other related field OR 3 years of relevant work experience.

Experience in Production Planning and Control in MRP environment, utilizing principals and concepts, is preferred.

Knowledge of Epicor MRP systems preferred.

Previous experience in metals manufacturing is a preferred.
