Pediatric Occupational Therapist

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist or COTA. Prefer full time but will consider part time. Some opportunity for remote therapy.
JOB SUMMARY
Provide occupational therapy for children with developmental delays, including sensory processing delays and autism, to help them maximize their independence and participation in everyday life activities. Therapist is required to educate families and caregivers of effective methods for interacting with their children to enhance their development. Therapeutic interventions focus on fostering the development of play, self care, sensory, fine and gross motor, visual perceptual skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - varies depending licensure
-Complete occupational therapy evaluations with emphasis on sensory processing/motor skills and report findings
-Develop and implement an individualized treatment plan to enhance the development of the child.
-Provide individual clinic based or in-home treatment
-Facilitate play, behavior, and developmental skills
-Participate in IEP meetings, development of goals, and reporting progress on goals
-Promote age-appropriate motor, sensory, and self care skills
-Parent/Family education
-Maintain daily notes
-Produce progress reports and evaluations written with clear, concise language and grammatical and spelling accuracy
-Maintain effective working relationships with support staff, parents and the community
-Attend meetings
-Performs related duties as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Able to explain strategies and intervention using clear and concise language to caregiver and family members

-Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
-Bilingual skills valued, Spanish preferred
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-California State Licensure
-One year experience working with children 0-12 years old - prefered
-Maintained a caseload of at least 75% children in the past year - prefered
-Skill in behavior management techniques
-Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with individuals of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds; read, interpret and explain policies, procedures, regulations; maintain accurate records
-Possession of pediatric CPR certificate or willing to obtain
-Current TB test - or willing to obtain
-Physical abilities include lifting 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, fine manual dexterity, pulling, reaching, talking/hearing, and near and far visual acuity/depth perception
