Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Grade: 108 Salary: $926 - $1,186 (Biweekly) Dependent on Qualifications Department: Police E-mail celenthialcctexas.com ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non-rotating, 40 hour work week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Responsibilities Uses UTV (utility task vehicle), patrol car, pick-up truck or on foot for enforcement to issue parking meter, neighborhood parking, disabled parking, and fire zone parking citations city-wide, for violations of the City Code of Ordinance and various State Transportation Code violations. Must be able to read and understand applicable city codes, use handheld computer ticketing device, operate meter software systems and codes, use handheld computer ticketing device, operate meter software systems and pass a UTV drivers course at completion of the 3 week training program. Directs traffic in emergency situations, assist in the set up and placement of CCPD Traffic Radar Trailers, sets up traffic barriers and traffic cones as needed and assist supervisors with other duties as assigned. Must be able to locate vehicles by computer and manually on the "boot list", as well as install and remove mechanical boots. Must report and testify in court and administrative hearings when summoned on issued citations. Carries and distributes maps and tourism literature to tourist and citizens, as well as giving directions. Assist in installation, removal and maintenance of parking meters. Performs minor mechanical maintenance and service on UTV's. Must communicate with Parking Control Operations Manager, supervisor, parking enforcement officers, police and dispatch on a two-way radio. Must have above average computer skills and excellent communication skills in dealing with the public. Must maintain a Texas driver's license as well as a city driver's license. Will work in extreme weather conditions. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, computer and office processes. Must have a High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of work related experience. Customer service experience preferred. A valid driver's license is required at time of application and hire. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire. Other Information: Basis of Rating Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview. Closing Statement Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
