Job Summary:

Seeking a full-time (4.0 or 4.5 days/week) neurologist to join a highly productive, skilled, and popular neurologist at AVH and selected outreach clinic sites to help meet clinical demands for services and build a neurology service for North Country Healthcare (system of 3 Critical Access Hospitals).

Provides office-based general neurology services to new and established patients (adolescents age 16 and older as well as adults) including: 

  • medication management
  • education and counseling of patients and families
  • ordering diagnostic tests
  • referral to related other specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine) locally
  • referral to subspecialty neurologists at tertiary care centers
  • communication with PCP’s.
Most commonly diagnoses encountered are:  
  • Migraine
  • Memory Loss
  • Essential Tremor
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Cognitive Impairment
  • Dizziness
  • Epilepsy
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Polyneuropathy
  • Headache

Partners with other members of neurology team (e.g., neurologist colleague, radiologist, EEG technologists, MA’s and RN’s, physical therapists).  Infrequently provides consultation for inpatients (0-3 times/week). More often provides curbside (unofficial) consultations to hospitalist and arranges to see patient in timely manner (
