Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow directions and perform tasks on instructions
  • Experience in floorcare or the ability and aptitude to learn
Job Summary:

Floorcare is responsible to clean the building and grounds to provide a clean and safe environment for our residents, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Clean all assigned areas
  • Proper care of all tools and equipment
  • Economical use of all supplies
  • Willingness and ability to perform routine repetitive tasks on a continuous basis
  • Consideration for all residents, visitors and staff
  • Accept supervision from various department heads and charge nurses as is necessary
  • Accept constructive criticism from supervision
  • Must be aware of standard cleaning procedures in health care
  • Must be able to operate floorcare equipment
Safety:
  • Always use wet floor signs and remove them as soon as area is dry
  • Keep all equipment stored in appropriate areas when not in use
  • Keep all chemicals locked at all times
  • Always question anything that appears to be unsafe
  • Keep all chords on one side of the hallway
  • Do not use excessive amounts of water when mopping
  • Never mix chemicals
  • Use all chemicals as directed and in proper dilution ratios
  • If you have questions about the proper use of any chemical or equipment, ask the supervisor
Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately
  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents/personnel
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations


This opening is for a FULL-TIME 1st shift (7a-3p) position. Mandatory to work every other weekend.
