DescriptionMedical Technologist or Medical Lab TechnicianFull-time or part-time. Rotating day shifts, department call, rotating weekends, and holiday rotation.Sakakawea Medical Center is looking for a medical technologist or medical lab technician to join our team. As a lab tech at Sakakawea Medical Center, you will complete a wide range of testing for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency room visits. Working in a rural, critical-access hospital setting requires our lab techs to have positive face-to-face interactions with our patients, as well as complete quality reporting on a wide range of laboratory testing. You will discover a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and mutual respect.Lab techs are responsible for performing specialized and routine tests on patient samples to aid in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease processes. Requires the use of judgment, interpretation, and evaluation to make decisions and assure accurate results. Must have good communication skills and possess the ability to work in an independent manner with limited supervision. Ability to work under pressure in a medical situation by reporting out quality results in a timely fashion. Previous experience is preferred.RequirementsTo work as a Medical Lab Technician requires an Associate Degree for MLT and a current license with the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. To work as a Medical Technologist requires a Baccalaureate degree, certification from a National Certifying Agency, and current license with the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.Must have good communication skills. Ability to work in an independent manner with little or no supervision. Ability to work under pressure in a medical situation by reporting out quality results in a timely fashion. Previous experience preferred.
