EHS Co-Op Primary Responsibilities Plans and facilitates EHS orientation for new hires, transfers, visitors, and contractors. Maintains employee training records and updates registers accordingly. Publishes EHS communication material such as alerts, educational resources, and performance metrics. Updates safety incident log, hazard database, and other tracking tools Assists EHS Manager with strategic planning of EHS initiatives. Assist EHS Manager with all OSHA required training, compliance, and programs; also leads training events as needed. Orders, issues, and maintains inventory of safety equipment Performs periodic safety inspections and audits to promote continuous compliance with OSHA requirements and to reveal unsafe work practices and conditions. Provides technical assistance and feedback to management and production staff regarding safety and environmental issues. Education and/or Experience Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field from a four-year college or university. High School diploma or equivalent required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, email, environmental reporting software, etc. Ability to read and interpret governmental policies and procedures. Ability to present information and respond to questions from employees and all levels of management. Must have sound organizational skills. Ability to provide relevant and timely information in a clear manner both verbally and in writing to personnel from a variety of functional areas. Fulfills the requirements of the position as described. Follow-through on completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner. Leadership skills, including the ability to train and give work direction to employees. Ability to deal effectively with change. Atlas Roofing Corporation
