Cytotechnologist

• This position is eligible for a $15,000 Sign-on Bonus for well qualified and experienced candidates. This bonus will be prorated for Part Time or Per Diem positions. Please note this bonus is not available to current MaineHealth employees or prior employees that have been separated for less than 6 months.
• Position Summary
  
  • Independently performs detailed and complex analysis of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens to detect the presence of abnormal cells.
• Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  
  • Education: Knowledge of pathology functions, practices and procedures acquired through a Baccalaureate degree in Cytotechnology or Baccalaureate degree in an equivalent science with certification in an accredited cytotechnology program.
  • License/Certifications: Certification as a Cytotechnologist by a recognized professional organization (i.e. ASCP) is required.
  • Experience: N/A
  • Ability to learn and work efficiently with a variety of laboratory computer systems. Accurate data entry skills.
  • Must be able to work any shift, holiday and/or weekend
  • Must be able to travel among company sites.
