About the Organization:

The healthcare system is searching for a Registered Nurse for Wound Care in Naples, Florida. NCH is a locally governed non-profit with two hospitals, 700+ physicians, and dozens of medical facilities throughout the Southwest Florida area.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse performs the primary function in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients in the Wound Healing Center. The Wound Center RN also meets the established WHC Standards of Nursing Practice in the management of all assigned patients. In addition, the RN assists physicians with the development and implementation of wound treatment plans and participates in performance improvement review activities. Lastly, the RN must be able to act within the guidelines of federal and state laws, Joint Commission standards, and professional and ethical practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete an accurate nursing assessment of patient's condition upon admission
  • Assess, stages, and measures wounds accurately and according to policy
  • Identify patient care situations that require intervention, implement nursing actions and evaluate responses
  • Document a plan of care accurately for all assigned patients
  • Implement wound care and HBO protocols when clinically indicated
  • Assist physician with wound therapy
  • Coordinate activities with other disciplines (Rehab, Nutrition, Diabetic education, Home Health, DME, nursing homes and other ancillary services)
  • Function as a case manager for a designated patient population

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum two years of RN experience required, ambulatory experience preferred
  • Current RN licensure for the State of Florida required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
