Optometrist

Role Description: This is a part-time on-site role for an Optometrist at Commerce Optometry located inside Costco in Commerce, MI. The Optometrist will examine patients' eyes to detect and diagnose any vision impairments, diseases, or abnormalities. Additionally, the Optometrist will prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and/or medication as necessary.

Optometrist Duties:

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests for patients
• Diagnose and manage various eye conditions and diseases
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids as needed
• Educate patients on proper eye care and hygiene practices
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic systems (Liquid EHR)
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry and incorporate them into practice
• Familiar with or willing to learn how to operate and review imaging on an Optomap

Requirements:

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school
• Valid license to practice optometry in the state of Michigan
• Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and diseases
• Proficient in using electronic medical record systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
