Summary:
The CT Technologist performs all CT procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body by proper positioning of the patient for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs, adhering to ALARA and Image Gently guidelines.Responsibilities:
- Performs all CT procedures to produce cross-sectional images of patient's body by proper positioning of the patient for diagnostic purposes according to protocol and age specific needs, adhering to ALARA and Image Gently guidelines.
- Administers contrast materials and prepares and operates the CT scan equipment and ancillary equipment.
- Follows all safety procedures.
- Performs clerical duties in RIS, PACS, NightHawk, and hospital computer systems as required.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
- Other duties as required.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
1. Experience in performing CT images in a hospital x-ray department or private radiological laboratory is required.
2. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
3. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
4. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. RIS, PACS, or other related software is preferred.
Education and Experience1. Education: Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology is required.
2. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA certification is required. Certified with ARRT in Diagnostic X-ray and Computed Tomography. Licensed/certified to practice in specific state of employment is required.
3. Years of relevant experience: Minimum of 0 to 2 years is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: None.
