Job DescriptionJob Title: Parish Receptionist, Full-time
Reports to: Business Manager and/or Pastor
Location: St. Thomas More Catholic Church |Sarasota FL
Classification: Hourly/Non-exempt
Overview
This position is the first point of contact and sets the tone of the Parish environment and demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism for anyone who visits the Parish; as well as providing support for all office functions, including coordinating with all aspects of the Parish. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
JobResponsibilities
- Greet all visitors to Parish.
- Answers all phone calls and refers calls to appropriate staff members; takes clear messages if staff is not available.
- Provide answers to caller questions and assistance when appropriate.
- Maintains Pastor's calendar.
- Review, sort and distribute all mail accordingly.
- Assists with processing of deposits: misc. cash checks received in the parish office and prepares collection bags.
- Maintains, ParishSoft sacramental records and Mass book, prayer list for sick, mass intentions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 year of office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and databases
- Excellent communications skills both written and oral
- Familiar with the Catholic faith
- Effective listener, responsive and supportive towards parishioners, volunteers, and staff.
- Exhibits good judgment, is highly motivated and self-directed.
- Parishsoft experience a plus
