Offer tax receipts to donors and provide assistance in unloading donations Handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage Assist drivers in loading / unloading of goods or equipment Communicate needed reports and information in a timely manner Sort and label goods by category and place in proper containers or equipment Separate high-end goods, computer and computer accessory and place in proper equipment Fill out needed production and inventory reports Stack donated goods neatly and safely Perform basic arithmetical calculations including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication Hand out marketing materials to donors Greet donors and provide information about Goodwill's donation policy, mission and programs Maintain clean housekeeping around donation area (about 50 ft. radius) Assist supervisor in providing on the job training to new staff, participants, clients and volunteers Perform other duties as assignedWhat You Bring to The Role:Retail and customer service experience preferred Must be able to read and write English proficiently, or have enrolled in and are on track to successfully complete an approved ESL programDemonstrate math and or accounting skills Must be familiar or gain familiarity with cashiering systemMust be able to stand on hard surfaces for an extended periodAbility to work in diverse publicMust be able to lift at minimum 35 lbs. Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for an extended period. We currently operate 34 retail stores, 33 donation sites, and two warehouse outlets across six Bay Area counties. This includes San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Alameda, Solano, and Contra Costa. Many of our career centers are embedded in our retail stores and are managed by career advisors who help people get jobs either directly at Goodwill or through our employer network. Goodwill SF Bay relies on a combination of material and financial donations to support employment services including individualized career support, skill building, industry certification programs, and support services such as transportation, clothing vouchers, referrals to mental health, housing and more. Donating and shopping at Goodwill is good for our planet and the local environment and helps Goodwill SF Bay divert >35 million of pounds from local landfills every year.
