Responsibilities:
General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Haul various pieces of heavy equipment to and from project locations
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle to ensure safe operational order and report all maintenance or repair issues to maintenance personnel promptly
  • Maintain equipment in proper operating condition by performing simple preventive maintenance tasks and/or making minor repairs as required
  • Must comply with all laws dictated by DOT / FMCSA
  • Must comply with all local, state, and federal permitting requirements
  • Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions
  • Maintain operator logs, time cards, mileage sheets, vehicle repair sheets, and records in accordance with company policy and departmental transportation regulations
  • Attend trainings and safety meetings
  • Observe construction sites for obstacles that may compromise job safety and/or production
  • Communicate with drivers and other personnel to ensure smooth and safe production
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Store and clean machinery at its designated location and note any deficiencies
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least 2 years of prior driving experience in a commercial or construction setting is preferred
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) - Class A Drivers License with valid DOT medical card
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Must have the ability to work extended hours as required by the workload
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) - Class A Drivers License with self-certification of non-excepted interstate and current DOT medical card
  • Must pass DOT physical exam and controlled substance testing
  • All driver positions are contingent on past driving record (no DUI's within past 5 years)
