Community Resource Network of Florida is seeking a compassionate, dependable driver to join our team. Our drivers transport Adults with Intellectual/Developmental disabilities to their life skills day program as well as community outings in the Port Charlotte area.

As a Driver you will play a vital role in helping individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities by assuring their safe transportation to and from their designated locations.

Our drivers have assigned vehicles and drive Ford HD Transit vans. Each van is equipped with a camera system and GPS Tracking.

Hours will be based on route assigned. A typical day shift would be an AM/PM timeframe for drop off and pick (specific start and end times may vary by day depending on route) 7:30 a.m. - 9:00a.m. and then 2:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. With community outings taking place mid-morning. No weekends, no holidays A typical work week could range from 25-35 hours per week. Upon occasion there may be an opportunity for additional hours to assist with special events.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and interact with passengers.
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the individuals.
  • Ensure vehicle is operated in compliance with applicable traffic regulations, ordinances and laws in the jurisdiction in which being operated.
  • Inspect vehicle to identify needed maintenance.
  • Sanitize and clean vehicles daily following routes, removing any trash and/or debris.
  • Ensure individuals are accounted for and transportation logs are completed daily.
  • Assist each passenger in boarding and departing the vehicle, ensuring that they have entered their destination safely.
  • Ensure that individuals are wearing their masks when boarding the vehicle.
Additional information:

Candidates must be comfortable working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Some of the people we serve may also have physical limitations that require assistance getting on and off the van.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must pass level-2 background check & drug screening.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid State of Florida driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stretch and have full range of motion.
