At Vancrest, we strive to provide the highest possible quality dining experience while ensuring the most nutritional diet possible for each resident.

Dietary Aide Job Duties:

  • Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food
  • Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct
  • Performing administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Food Services
  • Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary
  • Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required
  • Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies
  • Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time
  • Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service
  • Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal
  • Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc., as necessary
