The Role

As a Software Intern, you'll be working on highly technical products as part of a team of dedicated engineers and scientists from multiple disciplines in Northampton, MA. With oversight and guidance from your manager and assigned mentor, you'll be responsible for creating and implementing engineering solutions on product enhancement and new development projects. As a member of a cross-functional team, you will be a key contributor on software solutions for ITC and/or DSC applications related to nanoparticle characterization.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in an Agile Scrum team, completing software work items in areas including hardware and communications interfaces, GUIs, and coding with C#.

• Write high-quality code that can be reused across product lines

• Help us on our mission to create industry leading analytical instruments

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer or Software Engineering or Computer Science as a third- or fourth-year student or enrolled in a graduate program.

• Teamwork experience contributing to a group project (either personal project, prior internship, or as part of coursework)

• Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals such as:

• Object-oriented programming

• Data Structures

• Common algorithms

• Testing and Debugging

• Experience with a C-family programming language (C, C++, C#, Java, etc.)

• Fluent in English.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have experience

• Coursework in Operating Systems and/or Embedded Systems

• Knowledge of C# and .NET framework

• Knowledge of Python

• Development of cloud native application

• UI/UX development

• Agile development methodologies

• Collaboration via git

Experience with Docker/containers
