The Role And Why It Matters

In recent years Vonage has embarked on an ambitious and exciting growth strategy which has led to a significant transformation of the business and most recently, it led to the acquisition by global Telco powerhouse Ericsson.

The Commercial Legal Affairs team provides legal support for Vonage’s core business services - it continues to undergo an evolution as it looks to most efficiently scale its support for multiple business services.

You will be responsible for the provision of Vonage’s legal support for revenue generating activities across Vonage’s API, UC and CC business services together with legal support to the Global Sourcing and Carrier Management teams and will be supported by a team of committed legal professionals. You will continue to drive the expansion of the team’s support capabilities.

You will ensure that the Company obtains the maximum commercial advantage from its business relationships while minimizing/managing risk exposure.

This role will report to the Vonage Chief Legal Office and be a member of the Legal Leadership Team (LLT).

Legal and Business experience :

You Will

Have held legal leadership position(s) in house and be comfortable navigating complex organizations to drive successful contracting outcomes be an experienced negotiator and possess the legal technical skills and experience needed to directly support key strategic deals and drive the desired outcomes within the parameters of Vonage’s risk tolerances. have the gravitas required to support interactions with the wider Vonage management team and the soft skills required to successfully support the wider commercial legal team. possess a broad range of experience managing legal support for global SaaS technology companies successfully negotiating a wide range of commercial legal contracts including direct and indirect agreements - Terms of Service, MSAs, DPAs, BAAs, NDA, and partner agreements (reseller, referral, white label etc) and other technical collaboration agreements - with an ability to recognise issues requiring support from the wider legal team - including but not limited to privacy, regulatory, IP, Anti-Trust etc). thrive in an environment where you are creating a robust foundation for optimizing legal support for scale and support the continuing drive for use of contract automation solutions.

What’s Required For Application

Minimum of 7 years of post qualification experience qualified to practice in the UK or in the US Prior experience in successfully managing a global Legal team supporting sales activities in a fast paced, dynamic, monthly / quarterly driven SaaS technology company Excellent attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong team player and self-motivating. Track record of employing diplomacy and gravitas to drive consensus and results Proactive and self motivated; track record of challenging and improving on the status quo You will possess strong transactional and management skills, a high level of integrity and be committed to the highest ethical standards.
