  1. To know how to write highly scalable and distributed Ruby on Rails services.
  2. To drive technical projects and take pride in building systems that are used by millions of users every day.
  3. To have experience in developing mid-tier services in a service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  4. To think Agile is the way to go for faster development until something better comes along.
  5. To call Linux and Vim as your best buddies.
  6. To have great communication skills.
  7. To think POC (proof of concept) is the faster way to prove a point.
  8. Strong Ruby or strong programming abilities in Java and other languages like Python, C++
  9. Strong understanding of algorithmic techniques, design patterns and best practices.
  10. Curiosity about how things work and the behavior of finding the answers. Flexible and adapting the changing circumstances, tenacious.
  11. Knowledge/experience with Unix. Knowledge/experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases.
  12. Knowledge/experience with GitHub. Knowledge/experience with Service Oriented Architectures.
