Palliative Care opening in Gainesville, FL 70m from Jacksonville Position Details - The incoming physician must be board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine - Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years of prior clinical practice of hospice and palliative medicine - Applicants must have record involvement in education and scholarly activities, which included mentoring fellows, serving as clinical supervisor in an inpatient or outpatient setting, developing curricula, and / or participating in didactic activities - Outpatient only - Prior academic leadership appointments and / or experience per the ACGME programs ideal - Clinical duties are focus primarily on outpatient hospice and palliative care - Manage 2 fellows per year - Will be responsible for administration and operations; teaching and scholarly activity; resident recruitment and selection, evaluation, promotion, and disciplinary action; supervision of residents; and resident education in the context of patient care About the Hospital: - A trusted community hospital with 510 licensed beds located in Gainesville, Florida- Provides full-service medical and surgical acute care- Three freestanding emergency service locations, in addition to main ER- Accredited Chest Pain Center & DNV-GL accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center- Ranked top two in Medical Group for stroke care in 2020- Certified as a Key Top-Quality Performer by Joint Commission- Evolving Graduate Medical Education Program Location - Nestled in the landscape of North Central Florida, Gainesville is known for its preservation of historic buildings, art, cultural diversity, and the beauty of its natural surroundings; including numerous springs, lakes, outdoor parks and museums. - Not far from either coast, Gainesville is just a short drive to sandy beaches and some of Floridas most notable attractions. - Recognized as one of Floridas most livable cities, Gainesville is an innovative city that combines both a small and big town feel.
