Role Summary

The Psychiatrist Physician works as an integral part of the Behavioural Health department. The psychiatrist is responsible for mental evaluation of patients, diagnosing, or ruling out mental disorders, and prescribe treatments based on current DSM. The psychiatrist must be able to provide mental healthcare in numerous modalities such as psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy in a culturally sensitive manner. The psychiatrist will develop a plan to establish and maintain an atmosphere of collaboration with other specialists to monitor the mental health progress.

Duties and responsibilities
• Provide routine care such as vision testing and evaluation of visual conditions.
• Provide optometric consultation to other medical doctors.
• Refer patients for more specialized evaluation if required for proper evaluation.
• Diagnose ocular diseases and injuries.
• Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients about eye condition and treatment plan.
• Ensures that all medical records are correct and maintained
• Provision of clinical reporting into Project Medical Director
• Support clinical mentoring for staff development
• Ensure best practice in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs
• Support the clinical excellence framework under direction from the Project Medical Director
• Provide liaison with external agencies where required to maintain continuity of care and professional referral/patient handover

Governance

Comply with health & safety standards consistent with the requirement to follow such procedures and regulations as may be laid down by the company, its client or the host state including:
• Prohibition of the abuse of alcohol and narcotics or intoxicating substances
• Fire response drills
• Personal and Catering hygiene

Absolute familiarity with and compliance with company policies and such procedures that are pertinent to the role and to good clinical care, including but not limited to:
• Consent, confidentiality, and appropriate handling of healthcare records in adherence to HIPAA/patient confidentiality laws. Clinical staff must ensure that they understand their professional, legal, and ethical responsibilities.
• Maintaining and improving clinical quality through audit and quality improvement activity.
• Safe and appropriate use of medication.
• Clinical governance. Clinicians should understand their role in the organisation's clinical governance program.

Job Profile

Qualifications & Experience:
• Medical degree in Ophthalmology and licenced to practice Ophthalmology in the US, home country or country of practice.
• Successful completion of internship and residency in optometry.
• Experience with adult patients.

Key Skills:
• Expert working knowledge of the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye.
• Ability to provide follow-up care for patients as needed
• Excellent IT skills including use of electronic medical records systems
• Excellent communication skills
