Job Title: SolidWorks Designer
Location: Bedford Park, IL
Job type and Duration: 3-6 month contract
THIS POSITION IS ON-SITE. MUST LIVE LOCAL TO THE AREA

Our client, a major manufacturer of Lift trucks, is looking for a SolidWorks Designer to assist with a reverse engineering project within a new product line.

The ideal candidate will reverse engineer the actual product to create detailed layouts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. This candidate should be able to apply all their knowledge and experience to create general principles to solve recognized problems simply, effectively, and explainable.

Responsibilities:
  • Created detailed layouts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for new applications using SolidWorks.
  • Create and execute product design details, which includes: Detailing, Drawing and Checking, Reviewing and Approving Drawings and Change Order, Detailed Piece Part Drawings, and completing the Bill of Materials on drawings.
  • Ensure products are designed for producibility and manufacturability.
  • The candidate must also be hands-on and willing to work in the shop environment to measure parts and components.
  • Work within an engineering team to divide the workload of the entire project.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred but not required.
  • 5-7 years of SolidWorks Design Experience
  • Experience using calipers and micrometers to measure components of a product.
  • Use of hand tools to disassemble assemblies to create drawings on a part level is preferred but not required.
  • Experience utilizing outside resources to get reference drawings for parts/assemblies.
** This position will be on-site 100% of the time due to the location of the Product to be reverse-engineered**
