A place where your talent is recognized, professional development is encouraged and career advancement is possible.Position Purpose:The ER Tech serves in a role capacity in the Emergency Department: Nursing Assistant, Transporter, and EKG Technician.The ER Tech functions under the direction of the Charge Nurse.In the Nursing Assistant role, he/she performs routine patient care duties within the limits of his/her training and certification including (but not limited to): vital signs, personal hygiene, physical activity, patient transport, obtaining lab specimen such as urine, performing point-of care testing such as Accu-check, and recording of patient data in medical record. In this role, the ER Tech also has the responsibility to round on patients, greet and direct all visitors, answer phones, take messages,complete daily QC logs, stocking supplies, diet delivery and patient meal set-up, and other tasks as directed by Charge Nurse.In the Transporter role, the ER Tech is responsible for transporting non- monitored patient to another department. In the EKG Technician role, the ER Tech has the responsibility to obtain 12-lead EKG especially on patients arriving with Chest Pain complaint. He/she connects telemetry monitoring equipment on patients for admission.
