Our firm is located in Woodstock, Georgia. We are seeking an experienced attorney who enjoys handling criminal, juvenile, traffic, and school disciplinary matters. Juvenile delinquency experience and school tribunal experience is preferred, but not required.

This is a good opportunity for you if you want to take your own expertise, applying it to another person's situation, and work with the person to analyze their options to help them choose the best option for themselves.

Many of the clients prefer the certainty of a negotiated resolution over the uncertainty of litigation. This can lend itself to a greater amount of pre-trial resolutions to matters.

With many of the clients being in their teens and twenties, there is frequently family involved in the matter who will also have questions and want to understand the process. Ensuring their understanding is also part of the lawyer's responsibilities.

Responsibilities

•Handling all stages of a criminal, juvenile, or school disciplinary case
•Seeing the simple, complex, and creative solutions to a situation, explain each to a client in plain English, and help the client select the best solution for his or her situation based upon their goals and facts of the case
•Accurately track all time spent on matters in the case management system, while being ethical and efficient in the time spent on cases
•Being able to anticipate the time that will be spent on matters and notifying clients of recommended courses of action as well as anticipated time to pursue this course of action
•Establish a relationship and rapport with a client, and maintain that relationship and rapport throughout the case
•Provide supervision and direction to other team members, to ensure everything is on track for the cases you are working on
•Following our policies, systems, & procedures to handle cases in the manner that provides quality representation
•Providing outstanding customer service

Qualifications

•Minimum of 2-3 years of criminal law experience as a prosecutor, defense attorney, or public defender in Georgia (3rd Year Practice Act will be Considered)
•Active Member in Good Standing with the State Bar of Georgia
•Motions and trial experience preferred, but not required
•Spanish speaking preferred, but not required
•Experience with Macs preferred, but not required
