Job Duties:
Explaining procedures to patients and answering questions.
Preparing equipment for use as needed.
Preparing examination rooms for patient exams.
Positioning patients for imaging exams.
Monitoring patients during exams.
Documenting information within EPIC.
Reporting important information to the physician.
Ensuring safety of patients during exams.
Clean the x-ray rooms to avoid infection, and get it ready after use for the treatment of other patients.
Update x-ray protocols yearly with all physicians.
Prepare and maintain ball marker protocols based on physician preference.
Prepare surgical films.
Prepare Release of Information requests for patients, requesting outside providers, etc.
Work in both the clinical and surgical departments, dependent on imaging needs.
Maintain proper shielding for the patient, x-ray technologist, and other staff during the imaging process.
Maintain radiation logs for the State of Wisconsin.

Position Qualifications:
Education:
High school Education.
Must have completion of formal Radiologic technology training in an AMA approved (min. 2 year) program.
Possess a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification.
Possess a valid, current, unrestricted WI state radiation operator certificate (with no limitations, stipulations or pending adverse actions).
Current CPR/AED certification.

Special Skills and Requirements:
Must be able to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous responsible, professional and ethical manner.

Must be able to produce very high quality special imaging with little supervision.

Must be willing and able to assist the Radiologist in his/her interpretation of exams.

Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative.

Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering.

Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

Able to demonstrate competency in all applicable areas.

Knowledge of medical anatomy and terminology.
Must be detailed orientated with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Strong organizational, judgment, communication and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure.
Ability to multi-task and maintain an efficient workflow.
Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.
Ability to promote favorable facility image with patients, providers, insurance companies and general public.
Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
The ability to contribute in a team environment and and/or independently, to provide excellent customer service.
Skilled in proper x-ray positioning & techniques, and following prescribed safety standards.
Must be willing to travel between offices, work flexible days and hours as needed, including evenings and weekends.
Working knowledge of EPIC & McKesson PACs.
