Accurately and completely codes all outpatient clinical records and emergency room records to conform with current coding conventions.
Works unbilled reports weekly to ensure a standard of less than 3 days for outpatient and 5 days for emergency room.
1. Assigns ICD-9-CM and CPT codes to outpatient clinical records and Emergency Room records.
2. Uses the 3M encoder to help in assigning codes.
3. Updates/ enters computerized patient abstract in HMS system.
4. Reviews unbilled weekly.
5. Scans loose paperwork, ensures results & dictation is on chart before coding.
