PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing care for patients in the BWH Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery Center. Assisting surgeons with Mohs surgery and reconstructive surgery Preparing patients for exam, Mohs layers, and reconstructive surgery in a fast-paced clinical environment. Demonstrating current knowledge and skill in nursing practice to ensure safe and effective care delivery. Providing patient education, including handing out follow up/pre/post patient care instructions. Preparing, performing, and documenting the coordination of clinical care including, but not limited to, assisting patients with medication questions, wound care, and providing patient education as needed and requested. Bandaging of large and complex wounds. Surgical instrument processing. Delegation of patient care as appropriate according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, and adequacy of resources. Preparing for the day by checking schedules and turning over surgical suites; organizing and stocking rooms with necessary equipment and supplies. Participating in departmental and organizational quality management and/or quality improvement projects as directed by the leadership team. Proficient use of the electronic medical record, documenting in a manner that is clear, complete, concise, and in SBAR format when appropriate to remain compliant with nursing standards. Working collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment. Other duties as assigned by the supervising physician or leadership team. Licenses/Certifications: Current LPN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program. Experience: Recent clinical nursing experience in a healthcare setting required. Previous Dermatology or Mohs clinical experience with a strong interest in Dermatology strongly preferred.
