Job Summary:

Describe in three or four short sentences the primary goals and functions for this job.

Under general direction, administers and supports a mixed environment of directory services consisting of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition, and Okta Universal Directory. Responsible for architecting and implementing solutions that enhance directory services in support of business priorities. Contributes to decisions on project and infrastructure needs, including the evaluation of server technologies, languages, platforms, and frameworks. Actively participates in regional and national Identity and Access Management (IAM) communities and organizations as appropriate. Works with users, business analysts and technical staff to resolve problems and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Addresses problems related to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms. Diagnoses and repairs system failures. Provides on-call support for problem resolution. Takes an active role in developing departmental policies and procedures, as they relate to the use of Directory Services.

    • Leads architectural discussion and implementation of directory services
    • Provides tier two ticket support for all IAM services
    • Provides tier one and tier two ticket support for the Directory
    • Creates documentation (knowledge base articles) for IAM services
    • Creates short instructional videos for IAM services
    • Trains and mentors student Support Analysts
    • Helps to keep recurring projects, such as the Directory Reviewer Refresh, on track and current
  • 25%
    • Works with the University divisions and departments to gather requirements for projects and updates to current services
    • Develops requirements and feedback into documentation that can be used to further IAM development of new services or refinement of current services
  • 5%

Education:

Required:
  • College degree
    Experience:

    Required:
  • 3-5 years of advanced experience in all aspects of Active Directory Architecture and Administration (Schema, Replication, DNS, Permissions flow, Trust Management, Group Policy Management, Backup/Recovery, Security)
  • 3-5 years of general Windows Server administration
  • 2 years administering Azure Active Directory
  • PowerShell or equivalent scripting experience (python / C#)
  • Preferred:
  • LDAP Administration experience (example: ODSEE/OpenLDAP/OpenDJ/etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Azure Active Directory Connect and administering Microsoft 365
  • Previous experience with Privileged Access Management
  • Previous experience in Identity & Access Management
  • Familiarity with Okta
  • Familiarity with SQL and ability to write simple queries
  • Familiarity with using the Linux Operating System
  • Working knowledge of Firewalls and troubleshooting firewall and network issues
  • Working knowledge of 3 rd party and Microsoft CA certificate management
  • Previous experience mentoring junior resources
