We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Associate Attorney to join our team. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing a portfolio of client cases, providing high-quality legal representation, and ensuring compliance with immigration laws and regulations.

The Associate Attorney is accountable for conducting day to day work on client cases. Responsibilities include:

Client interactions and representation

  • Conduct intake of cases, consult with clients to understand details and merits of each case
  • Proactively communicate with clients and keep them informed regarding case processing and procedural issues
  • Represent clients at meetings, on calls, in emails, etc.

Research and analysis

  • Conduct research using legislation, case law, and other legal texts as sources to decide on appropriate action and recommendations
  • Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents and suggesting alterations as needed

File preparation and submission

  • Request and review data and information from clients in an organized, complete, and timely manner
  • Ensure data obtained from clients remains confidential and is stored securely
  • Prepare business immigration memorandum
  • Write/review contracts
  • Manage trademarks
  • Conduct quality reviews of petition packages and other correspondence to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance

Project management

  • Oversee the work of interns, law clerks, and/or paralegals to complete cases under the supervision of the lead attorney - US
  • Update and manage status reports
  • Keep lead attorney - US informed of case progress, issues, and risks
  • Capture hours spent on each case
  • Build and maintain depth of understanding of immigration types (e.g., H1B, E2, PERM, AOS, Family), application process, emerging trends, and updates to immigration law
  • Encourage a best in class organizational culture where teammates and peers feel valued, celebrated, and engaged

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida
  • 0-3 years experience practicing law; prior experience as a Legal Intern or Law Clerk for an immigration practice preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Advanced in MS Office (excel, PPT, Outlook) and legal software
