Job Summary and QualificationsWhat you will do in this role:
- Utilizes specialized knowledge of respiratory therapy principles in the provision of critical care services.
- Utilizes specialized knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures in performing diagnostic studies.
- Utilizes specialized knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures in performing general therapy.
- Medication Use
- Utilizes specialized knowledge of electro diagnostic principles in the provision of cardiac diagnostic services.
- Appropriate patient and family education or training is provided based on assessed needs and is documented in the medical record.
- Bases decision-making on sound principles related to cost containment in the Department.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory therapy services to patients served in relation to growth and development over the life span to identify their requirements relative to age-specific needs.
- Performs and completes patient plan of care to include initial assessment and reassessment at required intervals and to document accordingly in the patient record.
- Cleans, disinfects, sterilizes, packages, stores, and maintains pertinent equipment to assure adequate reprocessing and storage if equipment is required.
- Assists in the maintenance of a neat, safe, and attractive departmental area.
- Performs additional duties as department needs dictate.
- Participates in continuing quality improvement program.
- Functions as relief Lead Therapist when needed (RRT)
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a respiratory therapy department
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT)
- Associate Degree
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist, or State Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician
