Job Summary and Qualifications

As the RN Diagnostic Imaging, you will be a resource in assisting patients and their families in the Medical Imaging department. We support each other like family and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

· You will provide holistic, individualized care using the nursing process for patients routinely seen on the unit.

· You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care.

· You will function as a member of the multidisciplinary team as an advocate and educator for patients from point of entry, through diagnostic studies, and diagnosis process.

· You will ensure continuity of care with a hand off to the Cancer Navigator for treatment plan for cancer through survivorship.

· You will function as a coordinator and a member of the clinical team upon request from a referring provider for a biopsy procedure.

· You will build a relationship with patients and physicians, to coordinate a plan of care including appointments, transportation, education, provision and / or enablement of support services and representation within the multidisciplinary care environment.

· You will assume responsibility and accountability for the management of resources to achieve efficient, high quality outcomes for each cancer patient including support for interdisciplinary and cross facility collaboration e.g. tumor boards, and referrer communication.

· You will serve as a liaison between the patient and family, primary care physician, internal and external care providers, specialists, referrers, support network members e.g. social workers, and the wider healthcare community during the invasive process of diagnosis. This role will include conducting internal and external outreach and marketing.

Qualifications:

  • Current Utah RN license in good standing.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (preferred)
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) completed or in progress (preferred)
  • 4 yr Bachelor Degree
  • 3 yr procedure nursing experience.
  • Moderate sedation administration nursing experience
  • Experience in program development, leadership and customer service preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Bachelors Degree
