Avante at Boca Raton is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team of long-term care professionals. This is a vital role in a facility with a positive community reputation, a history of successful outcomes, and an experienced cohesive team. This is a 144-bed skilled nursing facility, with an In-house therapy department.

Description:

The Physical Therapist Assistant's primary purpose is to plan, organize, develop, and direct our facility's Physical Therapy Services to ensure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Responsibilities for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) :

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct our facility's physical therapy, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern nursing care facilities.
  • Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning therapy services.
  • Develop and maintain physical therapy standards
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating policies and procedures, resident care plans, physical therapy procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc
  • Review physical therapy policies, procedures, manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
  • Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of resident care plans, resident assessments, etc., as necessary
  • Assist the Quality Assessment and Assurance Coordinator in developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for physical therapy services.
  • Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the physical therapy department.


Qualifications for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) :

  • Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy (ASPT)
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment
  • One (1) year experience in post acute care or related setting preferred
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
  • CPR certification must remain current during employment
