We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Special Hazards Systems Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing thorough inspections of emergency lighting systems on a large college campus. You will also play a supporting role in fire alarm and sprinkler system inspections as needed. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and excellent customer service.
How you will do it:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of emergency lighting systems on a college campus, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Assist senior inspectors with fire alarm and sprinkler system inspections as required.
- Identify and document deficiencies on inspection reports, providing clear descriptions and recommendations for corrective action.
- Develop and maintain inspection schedules, adhering to established timelines.
- Communicate inspection progress and discovered deficiencies to the college campus representative frequently and clearly.
- Work independently and manage daily tasks effectively, prioritizing safety and timely completion.
- Maintain regular communication with supervisor and account representative regarding the status of -ongoing inspections, identified issues, and other site-related concerns.
- Provide exceptional customer service by fostering professional and positive relationships with the college campus staff.
What we look for:
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in fire safety systems inspections, or related field, preferred.
- Working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards relevant to emergency lighting systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety principles and safe work practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in using computer software for data entry and report generation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
