Job Summary and Qualifications

The Surgical Technician is a non-licensed skilled and experienced person who is responsible under the direct supervision of a registered nurse for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the operating room suite.

  • You will prepare for surgical procedures and arranges sterile set-up of instrument table.
  • You will assist surgeons during surgery.
  • You will assist with the cleaning of the operating room and instruments following a surgical procedure.
  • You will stock the Operating Room with supplies at the end of the shift and assist with general duties within the department.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Completion of surgical technician course, with clinical time in an acute care setting.
  • Surgical Technician certification preferred
  • BCLS required
  • 1 to 2 years of experience, including trauma, orthopedic, cardiac and neurosurgery preferred.
  • Ability to scrub minor surgical procedures independently.
  • Ability to scrub ophthalmology, ENT, and outpatient orthopedic cases independently preferred
