Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Obtain quality ultrasound images of patients.
  • Manage all ultrasound equipment and recognize significant diagnostic information.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform all necessary computer operations.
  • Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner and always identifies patients utilizing the proper protocol.
  • Prepare ultrasound machine and perform quality control tests.
  • Assist radiology nurse or radiologist in administering medications, performing biopsies and all types of care to patient.
  • Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and identifies anatomical orientation on all images.
  • Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients.
  • Completes and maintains educational requirements.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE:

PREFERRED:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a staff sonographer

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:

REQUIRED:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer ARRT or ARDMS
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers through AHA or CPR through American Red Cross

PREFERRED:

  • Registered Vascular Technologist certification
