Job Summary and Qualifications

In collaboration with the EMS Coordinator, supervises and assists in all functions related EMS Medical Communication and also in developing and providing the EMS education activities related to pre-hospital providers, associates, the community, and other EMS systems.

SITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and teaches education programs for Medical City Plano’s Emergency Medical Services, in collaboration with EMS Coordinator and EMS Medical Director.
  • Maintains compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards of those planning, regulatory, and accrediting agencies which affect EMS, nursing, and the institution.
  • Oversees daily operations and personnel of the EMS Medical Communications Center
  • Maintains competency and provides technical support and feedback for all equipment maintained within the EMS Communications Center.
  • Takes appropriate measures to resolve customer issues and service recovery
  • Trains, participates, and responds with disaster related tasks affecting EMS Medical Communications
  • Functions as a resource to clinical education programs at Medical City Plano.
  • Delivers customer-focused service.
  • Participate in development and evaluation of professional practice by participating on unit and/or hospital committees, special projects and attendance at staff meetings and town halls.
  • Actively participate in unit and/or hospital performance improvement activities.

What qualifications you will need:
  • BSN Required
  • Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted
  • 2 years in staff position in area of specialization
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor,
  • Paramedic (EMT-P) REQUIRED
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Previous clinical and or teaching experience in ED, CCU, or EMS, preferred.

This includes a high-risk antepartum unit and a Level 3 neonatal intensive-care unit. We were the first hospital in Dallas, Collin or Denton counties to be named a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Medical City Plano was the first Level I Trauma Center in Collin County and The Burn & Reconstructive Center of Texas was the first burn center in Collin County.
