This position can be either an Florida licensed RN, Registered Nurse or a Florida licensed RRT, Registered Respiratory Therapist.

ResponsibilitiesOperate extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) equipment and performs ECMO therapy according to physician orders.
- Monitor pump functioning throughout patient therapy and maintains pump integrity.
- Monitor circuit volume and administers products, medications and/or volumes as ordered.
- Monitor anticoagulation, electrolyte, acid-base balance and blood-gas composition values and adjusts ECMO circuit to maintain physician's orders.
- Generate and compile appropriate documentation and charges related to ECMO.
- Precept new ECMO team members.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following required:
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
ECMO experience strongly preferred.
