Registered Nurse, Admission Transition Unit

Job Overview:
Admission Transition Unit, ATU, is an inpatient unit primarily for patients who require a higher level of care and closer monitoring, referred to as intermediate care, IMC. Nurses in ATU are highly valued, as they are able to provide extraordinary care to patients across all populations, including telemetry/cardiology, respiratory, neurology, trauma, orthopedics, and oncology. These patients are admitted directly from the ER or other hospitals and remain under the care of the ATU team until deemed appropriate to transition to one of the floors.
The ATU team demonstrates expertise, flexibility, resilience, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
Required: Minimum 1-year acute care experience
Certifications and Licenses Required
- NJ RN License
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIH (upon hire)
Scheduling Requirements
- 7:00AM-7:30PM
- 7:00PM-7:30AM
Essential Functions:
- Ensuring the delivery of safe and quality patient care
- Perform, adapt and safely demonstrate procedures required by patients according to policies and procedures
- Administers medications accurately and safely
- Documents according to policies and procedures
- Performs, demonstrates and documents technical skills specific to the nursing unit
