Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). Plains is currently looking to add an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Operations team at our Bumstead, Arizona, facility. #plains

Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs, calibration, and maintenance on plant electrical and instrumentation equipment in a safe, timely, and cost effective manner;
  • Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation, including PLC control systems;
  • Ability to interact and work effectively with both internal staff members and a contract workforce;
  • Interface closely with Operations to coordinate electrical and instrument repairs and calibrations;
  • Willingness to learn plant processes and operations;
  • Ability to track and order inventory to ensure reasonable levels of critical parts and components are in stock.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade XII education:
  • 10 years hands-on electrical and instrumentation background, with preference given to candidates with dual ticket experience;
  • Prior gas plant, refinery, or oilfield experience is required, preferably in an LGP facility;
  • Experience with PLC’s, SCADA, DCS, and other control systems;
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of MS Word/Excel and e-mail;
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required;
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance;
  • Self starter with a “can do” attitude;
  • Team player with desire to work within a safety and goal orientated workforce;
  • Valid Driver’s License is a condition of employment.
