Job Summary and Qualifications

Nuclear Medical Technologist - PRN/Per Diem

Our Imaging Teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are current accepting applications for a Florida-licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals performing these procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner.

Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Utilize radioactive isotopes to perform organ and body scans
  • Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians' orders
  • Administer and record dosages
  • Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices
  • Compassionately explain procedures to patients and address concerns
  • Monitor, record and communicate utilizing computerized documentation
  • May also transport patients

Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical education; Associate degree graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program from an AMA-approved school
  • Current/active Florida Department of Health license (CRT)
  • Valid NMTCB or ARRT (NM)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire
  • Recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist highly preferred
  • EKG certification preferred
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
