Job Summary and Qualifications

TheMeal Relief Registered Nurse servicing the Telemetry and Medical/Surgical units, as a professional practitioner, assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care while they are relieving other licensed nurses during break/meal periods.   • You will be documenting interventions, outcomes, patient care, and patient response
  • You will be acting as a resource to staff by providing information, and problem solving to immediately resolve patient care problems
  • You will bedeveloping, implementing, and modifying the patient’s plan of care according to the patient’s progress
  • You will be demonstrating knowledge of specific disease processtreatments, interventions and responses based on age specificity, patient’s needs, condition, impairment, or disability
  • You will be reviewing physician orders and accurately transcribe to MAR.
  • You will immediately initiate STAT orders
  • You will be assessing, collaborating, reporting, and coordinating the patient’s transfer or discharge planning needs and readinessfor discharge or transfer to another level of care with the other members of the health care team and patient’s family/SO

Qualifications:

THIS IS A NIGHT PRN SHIFT POSITION

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • Current RN License by the Board of Nurse Examiners State of California
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BCLS
  • CurrentAmerican Heart AssociationACLS within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum of one-year acute care hospital experienced preferred

Riverside Community Hospital is a large acute care facility with 517 beds, established in 1901. It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County. The hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center and has a HeartCare Institute that offers both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures. Riverside has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which it is very proud of.
