Position Summary:
The Food Production Solutions Association (FPSA) is a Northern Virginia-based trade association that provides networking, marketing, training and educational opportunities to the food processing and packaging industry.
FPSA is embarking on an exciting transformative journey to further enhance the member value proposition and its footprint as a leader in the food industry. Currently, FPSA has two annual in-person events with plans to expand its events and engagement portfolio. Essential Job Functions:
Education:
- Work closely with FPSA Networks, Councils and Committees in the development of content for all FPSA events
- Serve as the primary staff liaison for the Events Committee, including leading and managing planning calls, agendas and outcomes
- Identify and manage industry trends, cutting-edge speakers, key members and customers to speak at FPSA events
- Transform call for papers and speaker management process
- Lead Speaker Management process to include the collection of headshots, bios, session descriptions, and logistics
- Coordinate educational logistics for the bi-annual Equipment, Automation and Technology Show (EATS)
- Write and edit compelling content for blogs and newsletters to enhance participation in FPSA events and business lines
Event Logistics:
- Work in conjunction with the VP. Engagement & Business Development to create new avenues of engagement and development for FPSA industry members
- Manage all event deliverables, including the sales prospectus, member communications, administration, logistics, etc.
- Serve as the primary liaison to all companies participating in events
Registration:
- Create event registration process and forms within the AMS (Salesforce) and conference website(s)
- Oversee and manage the Event App (Cvent)
- Work in conjunction with the Manager of Member Services to triage member inquiries for events
- Work with venues and/or contractors on all logistics related to the expo, speakers, and registration
Budgeting & Financial Management:
- Work with the membership department to provide accurate tracking, reporting and billing related to the event portfolio
- With the VP, Engagement & Business Development, assist in the creation of event budgets, sales goals, and reconciliation
- Bachelor’s degree required
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in the events industry
- Skilled in Project Management with the ability to create project plans, event life cycles and event materials from scratch
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience with AMS databases, events applications, and Microsoft Suite of products
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone/video and in writing
- Complete projects independently with strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills, including tact, customer service and flexibility to work with staff, vendors and association members
- Must have the ability to travel 3-5 times per year, including some weekends
- Must be based in the greater DMV area and can work in person at our McLean, Virginia offices up to 5 days per week.
